TAXONOMY

Taxonomy is the practice, process and science of classification.

This could be:

a group - named or numbered - to which items can be assigned to, as a result of similarities or defined criterias.

This is one of the central aspects of research within Graphic Design.

Triangulation: research model based on 3 particular pieces of information or 3 categories.

for example: pens, pen users, and pen colour. These three pieces of information can be processed in order to create graphical solutions.

a slight change of plan

After deciding to examine tablets for my project, and then taking a step back and looking at medicines as a whole group, I felt that it was logical to narrow this back down to something a bit more closely related to my original idea. However, instead of just energy tablets, I figure I could make use of all sorts of energy products such as energy drinks, and perhaps collect information on the ingredients. and then henceforth we have a more refined title for my project:

'per 100ml'

I feel that this could be quite an interesting interpretation of '100', and this could also stretch to looking into other kinds of soft drinks. Potentially this could result in fascinating infographics based on the data I can retrieve from these. I will continue to research various aspects of these drinks, and look into various ways of presenting the data.

This word has appeared in the American Chemical Society's Chemical Abstracts and is thus considered by some to be the longest real word

from http://www.fun-with-words.com/word_longest.html

a stupidly long medical word. a jumble of over a thousand letters that someone really, really clever might be able to figure out the meaning of without any help.

good to know.

research - recent medicines taken

I asked around to see what medicines people have been recently taking, almost like seeing what medicine is 'fashionable' (!!) to be taking right now. I don't want to include names as I feel that takes it a step too far, but here's a few names of medicines recently taken by people i've asked.

Bells blackcurrant cough syrup
Ibuprofen......currently most popular.....
Flucloaxcillin
Sudafed
Penicillin
Calpol
Tetrahydrocannabinol
Amoxicillin
