I initially had quite a range of ideas for the Top Ten brief, but have decided to go for top ten drum machines/synthesizers. In a way I didn't particularly want to choose a theme that was too generic or something that already appears on television regularly, and it is also a theme that I am quite interested in myself, which will help me engage fully with the brief.
I have already carried out a significant amount of research on my Design Context blog which has enabled me to get an idea of the history and background of music production hardware. It is perhaps not a subject that everyone would be interested in, but there is potentially a decent scope for trying out some quirky animation ideas.
